5 REASONS SOCIAL MEDIA MIGHT NOT BE WORKING FOR YOUR BUSINESS

1. You don't have a plan

You can’t go in blindly and expect success. Are you piecing together every free tip the gurus throw out and downloadable resource you can find? Maybe you’re hiring a coworker or assistant to do a job they don’t know how to effectively do? You need a content strategy and if you don’t have one, you’ll be one of the many who are frustrated.

2. You have poor expectations

It is VERY rare to start creating reels as a business and magically find yourself with 100,000 followers in six months. It’s also very rare to go from zero sales to RM10,000 in sales from social media in just six months. Manage your expectations and understand that social media (organic and paid takes time and consistency.)

3. You're blaming everybody except yourself

Stop wasting time hating the algorithms and start putting in the work. Stop blaming your favourite IG expert, and start researching your OWN industry and data. Don’t get hung up on what’s NOT working and start changing things. Hey, maybe social media isn’t even the place to hang out for your brand.

4. You don't understand your target audience

I’m sure you all know the age, gender, and location of your target audience but that won’t get you very far. What keeps them up at night? Who do they follow on social media? What are they doing on a Sunday evening? What annoys them during the day? What priorities do they have in life? You need a very firm grasp on your target persona, so that you’re creating content they actually want to see, instead of just adding to the noise of their daily life.

5. You aren't adapting to trends

It’s time to use video, folks. We’re not saying you need to be a TikTok star or spend every day creating reels. Social media changes with the current trends of society, and you need to be willing to change with it. If you’re unwilling to accept that each platform expects particular behaviour to succeed, you’re going to struggle. Do some social listening; what’s happening in your industry? Make sure you’re being competitive with your content strategy.

Don’t feel defeated and overwhelmed! Social media CAN work for you, if you work for it…

Why Short-Form Videos Are Revolutioning Digital Marketing and How Your Brand Can Benefit

In today’s digital landscape, capturing and holding the attention of consumers has become increasingly challenging. With average attention spans dwindling to just 8 seconds, traditional marketing methods are no longer as effective as they once were. Enter short-form video content—an incredibly powerful tool for marketers looking to engage their audience quickly and effectively.

Short-form videos, typically lasting under two minutes, are designed to captivate viewers with concise, compelling content. As our collective attention span continues to shrink, these quick-hitting videos have proven to be an essential asset for brands across industries. In fact, research shows that short-form videos generate over twice the engagement of longer videos, with those under 90 seconds achieving an impressive 50% retention rate. This effectiveness has led to a dramatic shift in marketing strategies, as more than half of business videos are now shorter than two minutes.
